Let’s face it folks, Arcade Empire has established itself as the best live music venue in Gauteng over the last two years. And it looks like they are not going disappoint music lovers with Die Eerste New Year’s Party on the 31st of December 2012!
Die Eerste New Years Party @ Arcade Empire will feature appearances by Man As Machine, Gangs of Ballet, The Plastics, Wrestlerish, Taxi Violence, Zebra and Giraffe and Civil Twilight. There will also be an electro stage featuring Kid Robot, The Doctor Khumalo, Format, Bassik Assault, Phizicist, Haezer and Dubsibia (from Spain).
Man As Machine are a hard rock band from Johannesburg, Gangs of Ballet are a Alternative / Melodic / Anthemic / Electronic / Experimental rock band from Durban and The Plastics are a Indie Retro Rock band from Cape Town. All three these acts have been making waves in the SA Music industry over the last few years and they don’t intend to disappoint the crowds. Wrestlerish, Zebra and Giraffe and Taxi Violence need no introduction. These two acts have been established as two of South Africa’s best live acts and should not be missed.
Civil Twilight (who are from Cape Town originally) are one of South Africa’s best musical exports. They are currently based in Nashville, Tennessee in the USA. This alternative band was formed in 1996. A few years ago they joined the Wind-Up records family. In case you did not know, Wind-Up records is also the home of Seether, The Darkness, Finger Eleven, Filter, Five for Fighting and other awesome international acts. They have released two studio albums since 2009. Their song “Letters from the Sky” has been featured on a few TV shows and at the end of the film “I am Number Four”. Civil Twilight is definitely an awesome addition to the Die Laaste New Year’s Party line-up and should not be missed.
Haezer is definitely one of South Africa’s best electro exports. He was voted the 4th best South African DJ by DJMAG and has established himself as a leader in the bass heavy electro genre which has gained wide spread popularity in dance clubs around the world. Dubsidia consists of two members (Gabriel and Jesus) and is a fresh and filth duo based in Spain that have a mad energetic stage presence. Alongside standout tracks such as “Kill Humans” and “Elekktroshokk” they have also made a name for themselves remixing Calvertron, Tim Healey, Downlink, Elite Force, Starkillers, Melleefresh, Dirtyloud and signing in Ultra, Rottun, Play Me, Skint and others.
