Mr Cat & The Jackal on stage @ Where BLUES Meets ROCK
I got back from the Where BLUES Meets ROCK Festival (which was held near Bronkhorstspruit in Gauteng) yesterday. The festival was absolutely awesome. It was the first music festival I attended in 2011. I know I say this a lot on the blog, but South African music is definitely alive and well (if you ask me). Before Tidal Waves walked onto the stage just after 1 AM on Sunday morning the festival crowd were entertained by Western Cape sensation Mr Cat & The Jackal. They played an absolutely amazing set. I also watched them perform at Park Acoustics (which was held at the National Botanical Gardens in Pretoria a little more than a week ago) as well. They truly have a unique sound and are definitely one of my favorite local acts at the moment. I snapped this photo Mr Cat & The Jackal performing on stage at Where BLUES Meets ROCK and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 28th of February 2011.
