For those of you who didn’t know, the Global Citizen Festival is organized by the Global Poverty Project to raise awareness about extreme poverty.
The Global Citizen Festival was held in Central Park in New York City and incorporated films about malaria, polio and other tragic diseases, played between performances while speakers dropped sad statistics (every minute we lose a child under five to preventable diseases, 300,000 women die every year of poverty). Most tickets were free – fans earned them by sharing information about extreme poverty on social media.
The festival’s line-up was comprised of the Black Keys, the Foo Fighters, Band of Horses, Neil Young and Crazy Horse and K’Naan. During Neil Young’s set at the Global Citizen festival Dave Grohl (from the Foo Fighters) and Dan Auerbach (from the Black Keys) joined him on stage. I would seriously give my right toe to see a concert featuring those three on one stage. It must have been pretty epic if you ask me.
This photo featuring Dave Grohl, Neil Young and Dan Auerbach on stage at the Global Citizen Festival was taken by Kevin Mazur and has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 29th of September 2012.
Yesterday Crowd at Oktoberfest in Munich was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant, feel free to check it out.
