In 2009 one of my friends and I made our our way to Oppikoppi 2009 Smoorverlief (the 15th annual Oppikoppi festival). It was an awesome experience (like the festival always is). One of the highlights of that year’s festival was definately Van Coke Kartel appearing on stage with Gerald Clark (of Delta Blue fame) for an acoustic set. They rocked the Oppikoppi crowd as the sun went down in the background behind them. To crown it all it was an awesome bushveld sunset. I’m pretty psyched up for this year’s festival, Oppikoppi 2011 Unkown Brother (which is going to be held from 5-7 August this year). I snapped this photo of the crowd in front of the stage at the Van Coke Cartel / Gerald Clark set in 2009 and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 17th of May 2011.
