Less than 50 days are left before Oppikoppi Sweet Thing 2012 kicks off on the farm just outside Northam in the Limpopo Provice on the 9th of August. This year’s festival promises to be one of epic proportions. It’s the 18th year in a row that Oppikoppi will be hosted. Most of you reading know that the festival is one of the premier events on the South African music festival calendar and one that can simply not be missed if you’re a fan of legit SA Music.
This year between 18,000 and 20,000 people are expected to make their yearly pilgrimage to the place of dust, lots of booze and good tunes – more than ever before. If you are going to Oppikoppi for the first time, prepare yourself, in fact take Boromir’s Opppikoppi Advice.

This is one massive list of bands and artists if you ask me. 128 acts have been confirmed for the festival. Quite insane. There is so much to look forward to. Don’t forget to book your tickets to this festival early – tickets are bound to sell out (like they have in 2010 and 2011). To get your ticket to South Africa‘s premier music festival, head on over to the Standard Bank youth portal for your discounted R600 tickets. They supplement each ticket for the fans and you DO NOT have to be a Standard Bank client to make use of this service. You can also obtain tickets on the Oppikoppi Festival Facebook page for R700 or for R750 from Ticketbreak.

Hey dude. I noticed that koppi seemed to have confirmed that this was pretty much the full line-up for koppi for this year, but it appears that they have back tracked on that, and are now not saying much about it. Other than, that this is the line up so far… So take that as you will, but it appears there may still be more to come. Lekker.
