On Saturday this past weekend I attended Hatfield Carnival at Hatfield Square in Pretoria.The line-up for the day included Fire Through the Window, The December Streets, Tidal Waves, Wrestlerish, Zebra and Giraffe and Van Coke Kartel. After The December Streets played their set on the main stage in the square and Tidal Waves played their set at one of the other stages Wrestlerish made their way onto the main stage. It was the first time that I saw them play since Rocking the Gardens (in Johannesburg) in October 2010. This band seems to be getting better and better every time I see them perform. And things can only getting better. Wrestlerish will be released their 2nd album sometime in 2011. I’ve never been big on Valentine’s Day. I’m of the opinion that its a made up holiday which has just become way too commercialized over the years. I’ve been single for more than 6 months now. To me (and many other single people out there) Valentine’s Day is actually “Single Awareness Day”, nothing more, nothing less. Maybe I’m anti-Valentine’s Day because I have not received that many cards over the years. Or maybe its because I think it’s stupid to single out a single day to declare your love to someone special in your life. Why do you need a single day if you could express this every day to them? Or Maybe it’s just me, period. Either way, this demotivational poster I found online kinda summarized my thoughts about this day in 2011.
