Amanda Tapping was born in Sussex, England in 1965. She is best known for her role as Colonel Samantha Carter in Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. Nowadays she’s the main character in the TV Show Sanctuary, in which she plays Dr Helen Magnus. She will always be one of my favorite and most memorable TV characters from the Stargate on television. She recently featured in a cameo appearance in Stargate Universe which has started in the United States on television about a month ago. She’s definately worthy of being featured on Running Wolf’s Rant as the Daily Babe for the 14th of October 2009.
Odette Yustman was born in 1985 in Los Angeles, California in the United States. She’s been an active actress since 1990. Her first role was in the film Kindergarten Cop (which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger). Since then Odette Yustman (who speaks fluent Spanish) has featured in various TV shows (including South Beach and Monk) and movies (including Transformers and Cloverfield. She also provided her voice for the Fallout 3 video game for Amata Almodovar. She was nominated in 2008 for a Teen’s Choice Award for Cloverfield. She’s definately worthy of being featured as the Daily Babe on Running Wolf’s Rant.
For those of you who have not seen District 9 the pictures featured on this post might not make sense. A new website has sprung up in honor of Wikus van der Merwe, a character played by Sharlto Copley in District 9 (which plays off in Johannesburg). The Wikus van der Merwe website is regularly updated with pictures of him which have been Photoshopped onto well-known / recognizable movie posters and other photos. Seeing this, the Vernon Koekemoer craze of 2008 comes to mind. It just shows you, South Africans have a lot of time on their hands and they seem to use it creatively. The Wikus van der Merwe website also features and interview. There are rumors going around that Sharlto Copley might be cast in the A-Team movie, not bad for someone who’s starred in his first movie earlier in this year (if it’s true).
