Shannon Hope on stage @ Park Acoustics

This past Sunday (the 24th of June 2012) @BaasDeBeer, @LadyRockerSA, @charlsiebun and I made our way to Park Acoustics at Fort Schanskop at the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria. Koos Kombuis, Guy Buttery (featuring Dan Patlansky), Bateleur and Shannon Hope were on the line-up for today. Unfortunately we missed Bateleur’s opening set, but our ears were pleased to make their acquaintance with Shannon Hope’s stunning voice. She recently posted a well worth to read article on Rolling Stone South Africa about her struggle in the SA Music industry.

For those of who did not know, Shannon Hope is an award-winning Pianist / Vocal Artist from Durban. She’s currently promoting her second studio album. Shannon did not disappoint the Park Acoustics crowd on Sunday with her amazing voice. She did play a few cover versions but they were brilliantly executed. It was awesome hearing a Chris Cornell styled version of the Michael Jackson song “Billy Jean” on the day.

I’m pretty sure that we’ll hear more about her in the future. I snapped this photo of Shannon Hope performing on Sunday at Park Acoustics and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 27th of June 2012.

Yesterday a photo featuring Die Heuwels Fantasties on stage @ Pretoria Botanical Gardens was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant, feel free to check it out.
