Sophia Loren was born as Sofia Villani Scicolone in 1934 in Pozzuoli, Naples, Italy. She won an Academy Award for Best Actress for Two Women in 1961, becoming the first actress to win an Academy Award for a non-English-speaking performance. She has been acting since 1950 (when she was only 16 years old). Over the years she’s received 49 international awards, including 2 Academy Awards, a Grammy award and a BATFA. She is the 2nd most awarded actress in history behind Meryl Streep. Like Ursula Andress (yesterday’s babe) she is a classic babe worthy of being mentioned on this blog.
