Springbok Emblem Issue Resolved

Being South African, I’m a Proud Springbok supporter. I’m glad that a compromise has finally been reached regarding the controversy surrounding the Springbok emblem in South Africa. For those of you who have not heard, the Springbok emblem and the King Protea will be on the South African National Rugby Team Jersey from now on. I feel that this was the obvious solution that would satisfy both sides of the argument, so I’m glad that each side is getting what they wanted.

In a previous post I expressed my opinion about it. The emblem will now move from the left side to the right side on the jersey though. The Springbok emblem will be replaced on the official green brazer by the King Protea. This is not bad at all. Both objects are uniquely South African and at least the Springbok will not be completely removed.

I’m glad that they did not remove the Springbok completely from the emblem. I think that it’s important to keep everyone happy. We don’t want a society of unhappy folks in South Africa.
