Today is St Patrick’s Day. The day was made an official feast day in the early 17th century, but has gradually become more of a secular celebration of Irish culture. St Patrick’s Day is a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Newfoundland (in Canada) and Montserrat. The day is celebrated in the UK, Canada, the United States, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and various other countries. It’s customary to have a pint of Guinness on St Patrick’s Day, and that’s exactly what I’ll be doing after work today. Today’s Motivational Poster reminds us why all of us are suddenly Irish on St Patrick’s Day.
