Surfer in Fiji
For those of you who did not know, Fiji is on the international date line. It’s the first place on planet Earth where the day officially breaks. Fiji is about 2,000 km North East of New Zealand’s North Island. It sounds like an island paradise in the middle of nowhere if you ask me. An estimated 849,000 people are currently living on the islands that Fiji is comprised of.
Fiji is definitely is definitely on the list of islands that I’d like to visit one day. In this photo by Lucia Griggi a surfer in Fiji duck dives his board to clear the rolling waves at an outer reef at Cloudbreak. I don’t think that I’ll ever be a surfer in Fiji though – that looks dangerous. This photo was submitted to the 2012 National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest (and with good reason). It’s a bloody awesome shot, nuff said. This photo has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 17th of August 2012.
Yesterday a photo featuring BEAST on stage @ Oppikoppi 2012 Sweet Thing was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant, feel free to check it out.
