Tamzin Elliott Interview
Today’s Featured Babe is South African model Tamzin Elliott. She studied a BSc in Biological Sciences at the University of Kwazulu Natal where she specialized in Ecology (particularly the ecology of big cats – one of her passions).
She currently works as a project manager in telecommunications and loves to break away to the bush whenever she can. She originally hails from Durban and is now living in Johannesburg. She finds it difficult to be away from the coast for too long. Tamzin Elliott is also huge Sharks fan and yes, she was a proud Sharks Flasher girl at one stage too.
She’s an absolute adrenaline junkie! She loves roller coasters and bungee jumping! Tamzin is always up for a challenge! She loves to gym and take part in adventure sports as well as travel to new and exciting places. One of her philosophies is “Try everything once – or it might not be there to experience again.”
In case you did not know, Tamzin Elliott recently won the 2012 Brutal Fruit Goddess of Glam search contest. It’s a really amazing competition where she was mentored by the likes of Bonang Matheba, Gert Johan Coetzee and Ntatho Mashishi. Last year she was a finalist in the Miss Earth South Africa Pageant. Beauty Pageants are a hobby of hers. She thinks that they’re fun and she has done her fair share of them. She previously won Miss Heritage KZN, Miss Umhlanga Beach, Princess in Miss Suncoast and Top 5 Miss South Coast. I recently had the honor to interview Tamzin Elliott and this is what she had to say:
What are you currently working on?
Im currently in the HALO mobile campaign, I’ve just shot the cover of the Justine brochure for February 2013 and I’m working on a commercial
What is the funniest thing that you’ve experienced on a shoot?
Earlier this year a few of us were shooting together and the stylist was male – no problem there – we were being given outfits to shoot in and having them checked by the stylist. When the one girl tried on her top and the stylist wasn’t happy with it, it was one of those cute tie front tops… anyway, he began adjusting it, when all of a sudden he shouts “well thank God im not interested in titties” we all packed up laughing and looked to see what happened, the other model had put on her top braless… needless to say, for the whole shoot whenever we needed to laugh one of us would shout “titties”
Which magazines / publications would you like appear in and why?
Glamour Magazine – Gorgeous, classy, on trend, my kind of mag! Sports Illustrated – Now what born and bred SA girl wouldn’t?
If you could provide aspiring models with some tips, what would they be?
Always be on time! and Go to your castings! You won’t book work if you don’t go to castings, and you don’t look professional if you are late
Seeing as its Movember, what do you think of guys with moustaches?
If it suits you, and you can pull of that whole sexy wolverine look, go for it! I personally like the designer stubble thing some guys have going on. On that note, don’t think growing a beard in Movember will get you any points with anyone unless you have actually signed up and donated to charity, that’s the point!
Check out these photos of Tamzin Elliott below. I really hope she gets featured in one of those magazines that she wants to be featured in one day. You can follow her on Twitter via @tamzin_elliott. I would like to take this opportunity to wish Tamzin all the best with her future endeavours.
