The Smoking Mojos on stage @ Arcade Empire
On the 5th of November The Smoking Mojos were the last act to perform at Arcade Empire as part of the Gundpowder Plot show. The came onto the stage after a brilliant display of rock ‘n roll by the Black Cat Bones and the Aidan Martin band. It was the fourth time that I saw the Smoking Mojos perform in 2011. They also played FORR in Mozambique and Mieliepop festival in Mpumalanga last year. If you ask me they are definitely one of the bands to watch out for in 2012. Check out their Facebook page at this link. The Smoking Mojos are currently recording their debut album. They also toured the Western Cape last year in December. For those of you who did not know, the members of the Smoking Mojos are Rick De Villiers (on lead vocals), Bin van Heerden (on drums), Olof Bergh (on lead guitar – and yes, just like the brandy), Albert Bergh (on bass) and Waldo Bergh (also on lead guitar). These Pretoria based boys know how to rock ‘n roll, there is no question about it. I snapped this photo of The Smoking Mojos performing at Arcade Empire on that night in November and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 30th of January 2011.
Yesterday a photo featuring Southern Gypsey Queen on stage @ Tings ‘n Times was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant, feel free to check it out. This blog is updated daily in the Babes and Photography categories, so come back for your little dose of awesomeness tomorrow.
