Thunder Strike Over Cape Town Sky
For those of you who do not read this blog regularly, I live in Pretoria in Gauteng, South Africa. We get our fair share of thunderstorms here, so we are used to lightning and hard rain. It happens every single summer. This morning Cape Town was hit by a thunderstorm at 7 AM. This is quite unusual – it doesn’t really happen in the Mother City. Photographer John Maarschalk took this image of a lightning strike between Signal Hill and Lion’s Head (located in the vicinity of the world famous Table Mountain) in May 2009. You can check out his website at http://www.justjohnimages.com/. So, it seems that Cape Town does get its fair share of thunder once in a blue moon. This photo has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant. Imod posted photos of the storm this morning, feel free to check it out.
Yesterday a photo featuring Planet Joy on Stage at Firkin, Centurion was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant, feel free to check it out.
