In September 2011 @BaasDeBeer, @RuanHaha and @BraaiBoy made our way to the FORR (Fellowship of Rock ‘n Roll) festival in Mozambique at a resort in Ponta Malongane. The vibe over the weekend was absolutely amazing. On the Friday at the festival Die Tuindwergies made their appearance on the FORR stage. They were joined by Jaco Mans (of Tidal Waves fame) and played an excellent set (much to the delight of the about 600 music loving festival goers). I snapped this photo of Pieter De Jager (the lead vocalist of Die Tuindwergies) and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 8th of June 2012.

In September 2011 @BaasDeBeer, @RuanHaha and I made our way to Ponta Malongane in Mozambique to catch the FORR (Fellowship of Rock ‘n Roll) festival. FORR was definitely one of the highlights on my musical calendar in 2011. It took us 10 hours to reach the resort in Mozambique, but it was well worth the drive. The festival featured appearances by Die Tuindwergies, Valiant Swart, The Smoking Mojos, Albert Frost, Naming James, Backmouth, Namuh and various others. One of the highlights of the festival was the performance by Johannesburg based Laurie Levine and her band. She played an absolutely awesome cover of the Johnny Cash song “Ring of Fire”. I snapped this close up photo of Laurie Levine as she was performing at FORR last year and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 1st of June 2012.

In September 2011 I made my way to Ponta Malongane in Mozambique for FORR (the Fellowship of Rock ‘n Roll). This mini festival is one of my favorites. I thoroughly enjoyed it last year. About 600 people attended FORR last year. Artists like The Smoking Mojos, Albert Frost, Scicoustic, Piet Botha, Naming James, Nibs van der Spuy, Die Tuindwergies and Mechanics of Happiness performed (to name just a few). I was particularly impressed with the organization of the festival as well. During the day none of the bands really played which meant some beach time or pub crawling time for most of the festival goers. I snapped this beach scene at Ponta Malongane last year and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 29th of April 2012.
