Heineken International was founded in 1864 in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. As of 2007, Heineken owns over 119 breweries in more than 65 countries and employs approximately 54,000 people. The brand has become quite popular in South Africa in the last few years. I must say that this Dutch beer is definately one of my favorites. Heineken is well known for their brilliant TV adverts and the selected to befeatured on Running Wolf’s Rant today is no exception. The advert features a team running a space program for Europe. I think its absolutely brilliant. It’s probably one of the best beer commercials I’ve ever seen.

Heineken is one of my favorite beers. It looks like the Dutch beer brand is getting the people in The Netherlands hyped up for the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa (which kicks off in less than 9 days). This advert features the Dutch version of the South African Makarapa (a hand-cut and hand painted hard hat which belongs to a typical South African football fan’s supporters gear) called the Pletterpet. It’s one of the best TV adverts I have seen that have been released in anticipation of the world’s biggest sporting event. This advert has been selected to be featured in the Television category of Running Wolf’s Rant. The Heineken we drink in South Africa is brewed by Namibia Breweries. They have become well-known worldwide for their TV adverts. This one has been selected to be featured on Running Wolf’s Rant in the Television category. This advert features 2 groups of people admiring their host’s wardrobes and leaves the audience thinking “Who’s Wardrobe is Better?”. This is definately one of the best Heineken adverts ever made. Heineken is available at most pubs and restaurants in South Africa (if any tourists visiting the country later this year for the 2010 FIFA World Cup were wondering).
