For those of you who didn’t know, I’m 35 years old. In this day and age I’m really getting frustrated about the gigantic amount of bullshit that is flying around.
When it comes to relationships I’ve heard it all before. At my age hearing all your friends (who are either married with kids or in steady relationships) tell you that “the right one will come onto your path” or “the right chick is gonna sweep you off your feet” or “you were both just from two way too different worlds” kinda gets repetitive (especially if you’ve heard the same thing over and over from them over the last 15 years).
To avoid these conversations I’ve been embracing my inner passion for local music and blogging and partying my arse off every chance that I could get. It’s really been helping me getting over one of my exes the last 3 months. Because of this attitude, I’ve met a TON of new people in this time period (and meeting new interesting people is ALWAYS a good thing)
I’m also tired of the over-hype going around for popular music, unimportant news headlines, really crappy movies like Twilight, books like “50 Shades of Grey” and reality TV shows (in a shape or form). I refrain from overly ranting on my Twitter account about it, because it gets repetitive and boring. And I’m actually actively trying not to be a douche.
Nowadays if I see anything related to Nicky Minaj, Justin Bieber, Keisha, Lady Gaga, Twilight, Masterchef, the next “big thing” in Afrikaans pop music, Nickelback, some or other over-hyped political issue / news story / Twitter hashtag or any other form of bullshit that is floating around, I simply going into ignore mode. This way I’m still in my own happy place (which is bullshit free by the way).
I’ve learned to assess anything that comes on my path and if I smell bullshit a 100 metres away I’ll choose to ignore it for the sake of my own sanity and choose NOT to rant about it on Twitter until I’ve formed my official opinion about it. So I won’t be acting out my hatred like the main character in “God Bless America” anytime soon though – I promise.
I stumbled upon this quote from American Poet Robert Frost and I think its an excellent reminder to all of us who are REALLY getting really tired of Bullshit.

Sums it up, doesn’t it? If you have your own opinion about this, feel free to comment on this post and let me know.l I would love to hear from you. Feedback is appreciated and welcome. Feel free to share this post with your friends on Facebook and Twitter if you’ve found it enlightening.
