Prepare to have a geekasm of note. Joss Whedon (the same director who brought the Avengers last year and TV series like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel) is back with a new series called Agents of SHIELD.
The series is based on the Marvel Comics organization S.H.I.E.L.D. It will be produced by Marvel Television and will be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It will also share continuity with the films in that franchise. The series will revolve around the character of Phil Coulson and Clark Gregg will be reprising the role. It’s basically about Agent Phil Coulson putting together a small team of SHIELD agents to handle strange new cases. Agents of SHIELD will also feature appearances by Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge.
It’s about time that someone fills the gap in the TV Schedule that Heroes left when it was cancelled. I’m keen to see what happens in this series. I’m thinking that it might just be one of coolest series to be aired in 2013. Agents of SHIELD will be premiering the USA in September 2013 on the ABC Television Network (which is owned by Disney). Check out the series preview below – prepare to be blown away.

Star Trek: Into Darkness will be amazing movie audiences later in 2013, but that doesn’t mean that you have to wait for a dose (or double dose) of the Vulcan awesomeness that is Spock.
Just thinking of the new Star Trek movie brings me close to Geekasm. The film is one of the most anticipated films of the year and I’m not surprised that Audi have released a new advert for the Audi S7 featuring the old Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and the new Spock (Zachary Quinto) a few days ago.
The two legendary Spocks compete against eachother in the advert (which is fittingly entitled “The Challenge”). First they challenge each other at chess, then they race it eachother to the golf course. Whoever gets there last must pay for lunch. You’re probably wondering which one of the Spocks wins this challenge, so check out the video clip below to find out.
This Spock vs Spock advert is one of the funniest ones that I’ve seen in 2013. It’s awesome to see both of them in the same advert. What did you think of it? Leave a comment and let me know. Feedback is appreciated and welcome here.

In case you’re in the dark about all the “May The Fourth Be With You” updates popping up in your Facebook and Twitter timelines, today is Star Wars Day.
I’m a huge Star Wars fan. I still remember riding my bicycle to Christine’s Video in Louis Trichardt (the town I grew up in) to rent the first three movies on VHS on a Friday afternoon. I used to repeat this routine regularly (even into my high school years). There’s a huge chance that I’ve seen Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi more than 15 times. I think that gives you an idea about how much I love Star Wars. I’m not a huge fan of the prequels, but I have to admit that the special effects are something special in all three of them. Star Wars Episode III: Return of the Sith is probably my favorite of the tree prequels.
To celebrate Star Wars Day the funny folks at Teddie Films posted this parody video entitled “How Star Wars Characters Eat Their Food” on YouTube yesterday.
If you’re a Star Wars fan I’m pretty sure that you found this video quite funny. Pretty clever and a nice parody of the How Animals Eat Their Food video (which has racked up over 55 million views to date). Wherever you are, I hope you have an awesome Star Wars Day!
