Pyongyang, North Korea

For those of you who did not know, Pyongyang is the capital of North Korea. Pyongyang is located on the Taedong River and according to the 2008 North Korean population census the city has a population of about 3.2 million people.

It is said that Pyongang was founded in 1122 BC, which probably makes it one of the oldest cities still existing today in South East Asia. The city was completely redesigned after the Korean War (which happened between 1950 and 1953). Pyongyang also has regular international rail services to Beijing and Moscow. A journey to Beijing takes about 25 hours and 25 minutes and a journey to Moscow takes 6 days.

This photo features Pyongyang, North Korea during a morning rainstorm. The photo was taken by David Guttenfelder for Associated Press and has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 26th of September 2012.

On September 11th 2001 two planes crashed into the World Trade Center, changing the New York City Skyline forever.  The twin tower building was completely destroyed in what became known globally as the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

It’s hard to believe that more than 11 years has passed since the attacks. The New York City Skyline has changed significantly since then. Construction workers are working on One World Trade Center in Manhattan (a few blocks from where the twin towers stood). Apparently construction workers have already reached 104 floors.

This photo featuring the New York City Skyline has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant. Two lights shined up into the night sky, significantly visible in the New York City Skyline. The lights were pinpointing where the original twin towers once stood. This photo was taken by Mario Tama on the 11th of September 2012 (4 days ago).

World Trade Center on 9/11

It’s hard to believe that the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon that have been referred to by many as “9/11″ happened exactly 12 years ago today on September 11th, 2001. It feels surreal.

It’s almost that many of us have forgotten about 9/11 after the USA pulled out of Iraq and Osama Bin Laden was killed last year. The fact that remains that nearly 3,000 people were killed on that day in the attacks. It was one of those days that changed the course of history forever.

I don’t believe the official story that the US Government has been telling the world about 9/11. There are tons of conspiracy theories about these attacks – and believe me, I’ve probably seen about 15 documentaries about them, so I know what I’m talking about.

Some theorists have said that the planes used in the 9/11 attacks against the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were not manned or occupied by passengers. I find that hard to believe, but that is possible.

I’m leaning towards believing that the “object” that hit the Pentagon was not a plane (supposedly a Boeing 757) – check out my September 11th Pentagon Attack Video post for more on that. I also that something was not right after watching the WTC 7 Collapse Video (in which a BBC reporter reports that WTC 7 had collapsed, even though the building is visible behind her on the screen).

And I don’t think that Osama Bin Laden was solely responsible for the attacks. If you take into account that he was originally trained and armed by the USA in the 1980s in Afghanistan and that he had a CIA Alias (Tim Osman), it makes you think if everything you’re hearing about him is true. I’m not saying that he wasn’t a bad man, I’m just wondering if he could be the patsy for this conspiracy (like Lee Harvey Oswald was in the JFK Assassination).

Nonetheless, today’s Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant features the World Trade Center and city skyline in New York City on 9/11. I’ll admit that these attacks were not cool, it’s just a category name on my blog for daily photos. In fact, it was a day that I and many other people reading this post will never forget.  My sympathy goes out to everyone who lost loved ones on that dreadful day.
