Tournai Cathedral

The Tournai Cathedral is located in Belgium. The Cathedral was constructed between 1146 & 1325 AD. At first a Romanesque cathedral was built because Tournai had become seat of a bishopry. The main nave of the present cathedral was constructed during that period. The Tournai Cathedral is an outstanding example of the great edifices of the school of the North of the Seine, precursors of the vastness of the Gothic cathedrals. This photo of the the Tournai Cathedral has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 13th of November 2010.
