Keep Calm and Rise Against

Useful Reminder to RAMFest Festival Goers

As most of you reading this know by now, RAMFest 2013 kicked off it’s four city tour of SA last week on Thursday. It’s hard to believe that there’s only four days to go before the awesomeness hits Gauteng harder than a shot glass on a bar counter on the 15th of March 2013.

Many of my Cape Townian friends who attended RAMFest 2013 Cape Town have told me that they were extremely impressed by the new venue at Riversonderend (Circle of Dreams) and that they were completely blown away by Rise Against (from the USA), Bring Me The Horizon and Pendulum (from the UK and Australia).  I’m also curious to see if the RAMFest Cape Town winner (Graham Pitout) is going to keep his promise about sending some photographic evidence of the awesomeness at the festival sometime this week. Only time will tell if this is going to happen or not, so watch this space.

I have to admit that I’m the most amped up about seeing Rise Against this weekend. Many folks consider them as an excellent live act and I really want to see what the fuss is about. I’m also looking forward to seeing Man As Machine, Jack Parow, Fuzigish, BEAST, Van Coke Kartel, The Smoking Mojos, Pestroy, Juggernaught, Planet Joy, North of Winter, Tailor, Jet Black Camaro, The Action Thrillers, The Stella’s and others this weekend.

My good music loving Cape Townian friend Phaedra posted this photo on Facebook last week and I think this is perfect and useful advice for anyone who is going to RAMFest Johannesburg this weekend!

Very useful advice for RAMFest Johannesburg right? To get you even more amped up for the festival, check out this video featuring a live version of “Prayer of the Refugee” by Rise Against at Rock AM Ring in Germany in 2010 below. I can’t wait to see these blokes live on Saturday in Joburg.

If this makes you feel amped up for the festival, share this post with your friends on Facebook and Twitter. Remember: Sharing is Caring. Also feel free to comment if you want to tell me how amped you are for RAMFest Johannesburg this weekend. Feedback is appreciated and welcome here.

Tickets for RAMfest 2013 Johannesburg (which takes place at Riversands Farm in Fourways) are still available on Ticketbreak and getting sold faster than you can say “Julius Malema”. Pre-sold tickets cost R550 and tickets at the gate will cost R650. Please note that all camping tickets have been sold out. These tickets give you access to the event for the 15th and the 16th of March but do NOT include camping.  Check out the RAMFEst Facebook page and @RAMFest on Twitter for more information.
