Valiant Swart on stage @ Where BLUES Meets ROCK
This past weekend I attended the Where BLUES Meets ROCK festival (near Bronkhorstspruit in Gauteng). Before seeing Tidal Waves, Mr Cat & The Jackal and The Black Cat Bones on the 2nd day of the festival the crowd were treated to an excellent acoustic performance by Afrikaans music legend Valiant Swart. He played a lot of songs that brought back many memories of the early days of SA Music Explosion. I’ve probably seen Valiant Swart live more than 15 times over the years. Back in the mid 1990s he used to play a gig every Wednesday evening at Shaft (which closed down +/- 1998). His performance was definitely one of the highlights of Where BLUES Meets ROCK. I snapped this photo of Valiant Swart performing at the festival and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 2nd of March 2011.
Please note: I will be attending RAMFest 2011 (the Cape Town edition) this weekend. Yesterday a photo of The Black Cat Bones on stage @ Where BLUES Meets ROCK was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant. Watch this space for updates. The Technology, Babes, Events, Facts, Gaming, Humor, Music, Movies, Opinion, Photography, Sport and Television categories are updated constantly. Feedback on posts is appreciated and welcome, so feel free to comment on anything you might have an opinion about.
