Van Coke Kartel on stage @ Pretoria Botanical Gardens
On the 16th of June 2012 @BaasDeBeer and I made our way to the National Botanical Gardens in Pretoria to catch the Old Mutual Music in the Gardens concert featuring Die Heuwels Fantasties, Van Coke Kartel and Newtown Knife Gang. After enjoying the opening set by Newtown Knife Gang, Van Coke Kartel made their way onto the stage and showed just why they’ve won the MK Award for best live act for two years in a row. These Afrikaans Belville rockers played most of the songs on their latest album, Wie’s Bang. The 2,000 crowd especially enjoyed Tot Die Song Uitkom (the latest single that has been released from the album). At one stage Hunter Kennedy joined the band on stage. I snapped this photo of Van Coke Kartel performing with Hunter Kennedy on the day and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 24th of June 2012.
Yesterday a photo featuring Newtown Knife Gang on stage @ Pretoria Botanical Gardens was the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant, feel free to check it out.
