Vote for “Bacon and Soul” in the Debonairs Pizza Battle!

The folks at Debonairs Pizza are pretty bloody awesome if you ask me. Last night I had the privilege to make my own pizza for a little Debonairs Pizza Battle at their branch in Sunninghill, Johannesburg.

Thanks to @BaasDeBeer (my housemate, friend and Pretorian partner in crime) I have named this awesome pizza creation “Bacon and Soul”. It didn’t take me too long to create it last night. I felt like a master pizza creator with my Debonairs Pizza cap and apron on. It also brought back memories from my days as a waiter in an Italian restaurant in Hatfield.

So, you’re probably wondering what was on my “Bacon and Soul” pizza? Well, since I’m a huge lover of anything that tastes good. And I didn’t refrain from pulling out all the stops last night.

My “Bacon and Soul” pizza contained half to two thirds of the normal amount of tomato, plenty cheese, garlic, 2 portions of bacon, chicken, ham, feta and biltong. To top it all off, I also added slices of avocado afterwards.

After building this pizza creation I popped it into the Debonairs oven for four to four and a half minutes. And I must say the end result was quite tasty. I’m already craving it as I’m writing this post, to be honest.

All this talk of Debonairs Pizza is probably making you crazy. Well, if you’re a pizza lover, you’re in good luck, these South African pizza maestros have asked me to participate in this Debonairs Pizza Battle with two other blogs, Just Curious and Joburg’s Darling.
