So, some of you have been living under a rock the past year or so and you are scratching your heads and asking yourselves “What is Groupon?”. Well, for those of you who did not know. Groupon is a deal-of-the-day website that is localized to major markets in the United States and Canada. Great news for deal / bargain seekers locally is that Groupon launched in South Africa last year.
So, you are asking yourself: “How does it work?”. Well, it’s quite easy. First head on over to the Groupon website and select the city that you are located in to find deals in your area. Various South African Cities (Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, East London and others) have daily deals on Groupon South Africa.
Once you’ve found a deal that you like, snap it up by clicking on the “Buy Now” button, then tell your friends about the deal you found and make the most out of your city’s collective buying power. If the deal is successful you will receive your printable Groupon (voucher) via e-mail. All that remains then is to redeem your Groupon and discover a brand new side to your city. Groupon deals could be anything, from specials at restaurants, to spa vouchers, to special deals on travel and accommodation. The possibilities are endless!
