Great news for Gauteng beer lovers & music fans! The 2017 edition of Capital Craft (the capital city’s favourite annual Craft Beer Festival) will be happening on Saturday the 10th of June at the National Botanical Gardens in Pretoria.
Over the last few years Capital Craft Beer Festival has established itself as an indispensable part of the Pretoria social calendar. Last year 8,000 people attended this event (which turned out to be one of the coolest Pretoria’s outings of 2016). The event sets the bar for the industry with tons of brewers, ample entertainment and a massive variety of food to choose from. In short, if you love beer and you love good tunes you should not be missing out on this.
This year you can expect 3 Music Stages, over 35 brewers, over 200 beers On tap, over 30 food stalls, educational stalls, drinks for non-beer drinkers and non-alcoholic drinks and a free bus service from the Hatfield Gautrain station to the venue (Yes Joburgers – there will be a bus every 25 minutes). All this happens at a beautiful venue with safe parking and it’s the perfect opportunity to have a few pints, meet the brewers, make new friends and dance till you drop to some good tunes. Why would you want to skip something as awesome as this?

Clamber Club will be running the kids area for 2 to 9 year olds at Capital Craft 2017. It’s an extensive and exciting sensory motor programme that gets children moving, promoting fitness, health and learning. We know that children learn best when they’re enjoying themselves. There will be a party obstacle course and equipment set up at festival kiddies entertainment area this year. The obstacle course is unique and a team of trained entertainers will keep your children active and happy as they tumble, roll, jump, climb and jog. Jog The Frog will also join in the fun and we will be offering face painting, colouring inn competitions and various age appropriate games.
Tickets cost R165 per person or will set you back R200 at the gate and includes a branded beer mug. Tickets for kids cost R100. Tickets are available at Capital Craft Menlo Park, Capital Craft Centurion or online at Plankton.mobi. Parking costs R20 per car. Take note that there won’t be a token system at this year’s festival. There will be an ATM on site, but I would advise you to take enough cash with you to avoid the cue. Gates open at 10 AM and the festival ends at 7:30 PM. Take note that right of admission is reserved and no drugs or weapons are allowed.
Rugby fans should also take note they will be able to watch the match between SA and France on a big screen from 5 PM. If you’re going to match, make use of Uber to get to Loftus (which is only 10 km away).
