In case you forgot, global sports and music upliftment initiative #pumpforpeace rocked its launch in Lesotho, and is hitting South Africa with its benefit concerts and new pump tracks. It all starts at Pretoria’s Wolwespruit Mountain Bike and Trail Park (just off the N1 Rigel Avenue off-ramp) with a star-studded line up on the 12th of August.
All proceeds will support the revival of music initiatives and the construction of new pump tracks (the undulating, heart-pumping, feature-rich global rage for all things on wheels) in disadvantaged communities.Claudio Caluori’s Velosolutions has built pumptracks from Thailand to New York City and he has seen first-hand how age, race, gender, and social barriers dissolve and talent blooms on the tracks.
Music lovers have got a whole day of sounds to look forward to from The Parlotones, Karen Zoid, Desmond & The Tutus, The Black Cat Bones, Tidal Waves and The Sweet Resistance. All with the indomitable Catherine Grenfell as your MC and DJ for the day. For more info about this amazing event, read this article.
