Win tickets to the LETS SWING IT Family Picnic!

Great news! The very first LETS SWING IT for 2016 will be taking place on the 9th of April 2016. Prepare to be amazed! This time one of Johannesburg’s hottest inner city venues are going to be taken: the iconic and much loved Carfax (in Newtown).

The side street (Main Stage) will be transformed into a picnic setting complete with astro turf, picnic baskets (pre-booked), gourmet street and market food, arts and crafts and a secure kids play area with loads to keep the little ones busy including face painting, jumping castles, puppet shows and sand art.

LETS SWING IT Family Picnic

The organizers won’t be enforcing a dress code, but very strongly believe that dressing up will significantly add to your enjoyment of the event whilst adding to the ambience for everyone else, so please make an effort: you will be rewarded! Awesome prizes will be handed out to best dressed male and female (1920s Swing and 1950s Rockabilly).

The LETS SWING IT main stage (1920’s Swing) will feature a Lil Bow DJ Set, Michael Lesar ft. Greg Georgiades on Ukulele, The Swing Party Band, the Full Swing Band (from Johannesburg), Mix ‘n Blend (a DJ Duo from Cape Town) and a surprise act (which will be announced in the near future).

The LETS SWING IT Lets Twist Again Stage (1950s Rock ‘n Roll / Rockabilly / 60s Soul / Boogie / Rock-Steady / Boogaloo) will feature The Klassikist, DJ Melitia, Pauly aka Digital Dream, Doctor Khumalo, Billy Killer Van De Sandton and Miss Oh and Friends (a live Burlesque performance).

Tickets will cost R200 at the door, but general pre-sold tickets cost R160 (once the Earlybird tickets have sold out) on QUICKET.

You can expect awesome visuals (Facet Nation), a concert style stage set-up (the Main Stage), strict security, secure parking, food stalls, a “Learn how to do the Charleston / Lindy Hop” lesson by Five6seven8 Dance Studio, professional photographers, picnic baskets, free kiddies entertainment (by Professional Child Carers), arts and crafts, prizes for best dressed and jugglers. More information is available on the Facebook Event.
