Win tickets to Johnny Clegg and Shortstraw live in Pretoria!

On Sunday the 6th of July 2014 something amazing is happening in Pretoria. As part of the Old Mutual Music in the Gardens series for 2014, legendary South African artist Johnny Clegg, South African Indie rock legends Shortstraw and Besides Shortstraw and Johnny Clegg, two-time SAMA 2013 nominee Tailor will will be entertaining music lovers at the National Botanical Gardens.

Johnny Clegg is one of our country’s most celebrated sons. He is a singer, a songwriter, a dancer, anthropologist and a musical activist whose infectious crossover music (a vibrant blend of Western pop and African Zulu rhythms) has exploded onto the international scene and broken through all the barriers in South Africa. In France (where he enjoys a massive following) he is fondly called “Le Zulu Blanc” (the white Zulu).

Shortstraw are a 5-piece Afro-indie pop rock band from Johannesburg who have been making serious waves in the SA Music scene. This quirky, feel-good band started off as a 2-piece drum / acoustic guitar band in 2007, but they only officially started performing in 2008. By 2011 Shortstraw had evolved into 5 piece musical force to be reckoned with and since then they’ve been featured on the line-ups of almost all of South Africa’s music festival (much to the delight of their fans).

Tailor is one SA’s top talents and have not seen this gorgeous artist perform, you will be blown away. Just ask anyone who has seen her performances at Oppikoppi, RAMFest, Park Acoustics and other festivals around the country.
