The 27th season of the Simpsons made it premiere on Fox in the US two weeks ago. This TV show started out as a short on the Tracy Ulman show, but the shorts drew so much attention that it was developed as a stand alone TV show.
The first episode of the Simpsons aired on the 17th of December 1989. It’s the longest running animated and prime time show in the history of television. As the show has gone on, the number of characters with speaking roles has grown and the show is now home to hundreds of animated men and women with unique voices.
Dan Castellaneta, Nancy Cartwright and Hank Azaria play the majority of the characters you see on the show. According to Vox, this earns the voice actors around $300,000 (R4.17 million) per episode. Not bad for a saying a few lines a week.

Pretty amazing, right? Homer Simpson is still my favorite character on the show. Who’s yours? Leave a comment and let me know.
