Twenty One 2021 Movies To Look Forward To

There are plenty of 2021 movies to look forward to and to list every single one of them would be impossible. To make things easier for you, I’ve compiled a list of twenty one movies that you can look forward to this year.  Many of these films were actually supposed to be released in 2020, but were delayed (thanks to COVID-19 pandemic).

Here are Twenty One 2021 Movies To Look Forward To

    1. Raya and The Last Dragon

The first movie on this list of 2021 movies takes places in a realm known as Kumandra. It’s a re-imagined Earth inhabited by an ancient civilization, a warrior named Raya is determined to find the last dragon. This film will be released on Disney Plus and in Theatres in March 2021.

    2. Coming 2 America

The African monarch Akeem (Eddie Murphy) learns that he has a long-lost son in the United States and must return to America to meet this unexpected heir and build a relationship with his son.

The film is the sequel to 1988’s Coming To America. I thoroughly enjoyed the original film and I’m definitely looking forward to this film (which will be released on Amazon Prime in March 2021). It was supposed to be released in August 2020, but Paramount Pictures sold the worldwide rights to Amazon Studios.

    3. Morbius

Biochemist Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease, but he inadvertently infects himself with a form of vampirism instead.

Morbius is the second film in the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. The first film in this universe was 2018’s Venom. This is Jared Leto’s second comic-book role, after playing the Joker in 2016’s Suicide Squad. The film will also feature performances by Matt Smith and Michael Keaton. The film is scheduled for release in March 2021.

    4. No Time To Die

James Bond (Daniel Craig) has left active service. His peace is short-lived when Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright), an old friend from the CIA, turns up asking for help, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain (Rami Malik) who is armed with dangerous new technology.

No Time To Die - 2021 Movies

No Time To Die is the 25th movie in the James Bond franchise. With this film, Daniel Craig will become the third oldest actor to play James Bond. Roger Moore was aged about 57 years for A View to a Kill (1985), Sean Connery was around 53 for Never Say Never Again, whilst Craig for No Time to Die (2021) will be aged around 51 years. The film is scheduled for release in April 2021.

    5. A Quiet Place Part II

Following the events at home, the Abbott family now face the terrors of the outside world. Forced to venture into the unknown, they realize the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats lurking beyond the sand path.

This is definitely one of the most anticipated 2021 Movies. The film was directed by John Krasinski (who also directed the first film). Emily Blunt almost did not sign up for the sequel, but changed her mind when she heard Krasinski’s pitch for one of the film’s scenes (involving a bus). The film is scheduled for release in April 2021.

    6. Black Widow

At birth the Black Widow “aka Natasha Romanova” (Scarlett Johansson) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the Soviet Union breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action moves to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative.

    Black Widow - 2021 Movies

This film is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and takes place after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Scarlett Johannsson describes the film as “Its own genre”, and even named Logan (2017) an Influence along with The Fugitive (1993), and Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). Black Widow is scheduled for release in May 2021.

    7. Godzilla vs Kong

Legends collide as Godzilla and Kong, the two most powerful forces of nature, clash on the big screen in a spectacular battle for the ages. As a squadron embarks on a perilous mission into fantastic uncharted terrain, unearthing clues to the Titans’ very origins and mankind’s survival, a conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.

Godzilla vs Kong - 2021 Movies

This film is the crossover sequel to Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Kong: Skull Island and the first film in 59 years to feature both King Kong and Godzilla. It’s scheduled to be released in May 2021.

    8. The French Dispatch

This film is a love letter to journalists set in an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional 20th century French city that brings to life a collection of stories published in “The French Dispatch Magazine”.

The French Dispatch - 2021 Movies

The film will feature performances by Timothée Chalamet, Saoirse Ronan, Léa Seydoux, Bill Murray, Elisabeth Moss, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand and Edward Norton. The film is expected to be released in Mid 2021.

    9. Ghostbusters: Afterlife

    Ghostbusters Afterlife - 2021 Movies

This film is a sequel (not a prequel) and takes place 30 years after the events of 1989’s Ghostbusters II. The film is co-written and directed by Jason Reitman. His dad, Ivan Reitman directed the 2 Ghostbusters films that were released in the 1980s.

Weaver, Murray, Akroyd and Hudson appeared in the first two films in the franchise.

    10. Venom: Let There Be Carnage

This film is the sequel to 2018’s Venom and will be the third film in the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. Not much has been revealed about the film’s plot. The film was originally supposed to be released in October 2020, but will now be released in June 2021.

    Venom 2 - 2021 Movies

    11. Minions: The Rise of Gru

This film is scheduled for release in July 2021. It was also delayed by COVID-19. It’s the untold story of one twelve-year-old’s dream to become the world’s greatest supervillain. It’s also the first theatrically released sequel to an animated prequel and an animated spin-off. It’s also Jean-Claude Van Damme’s first animated film outside the Kung Fu Panda sequels.

    13. The Suicide Squad
