3 movies coming out later in 2014 that I don’t want to miss

The 2nd half of 2014 is going to be great if you want to watch some awesome movies. Audiences are already being spoiled with films like The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Godzilla, Transformers: Age of Extinction, 300: Rise of an Empire, The Monuments Men and various others, but there’s more amazing films coming the second half of the year – today I’m highlighting three of them.

Interstellar: Scheduled for release on the 4th of November in the USA, this Science Fiction film promises to be one of the coolest movies of 2014. Interstellar is co-written directed by Christopher Nolan (who also brought us The Prestige, Inception and the Dark Knight Trilogy) and the plot is believed to involve time travel and alternate dimensions. A wormhole (which theoretically can connect widely-separated regions of spacetime) is discovered and sees explorers and scientists uniting to embark on a voyage through it, transcending the limits of human space travel.

Sounds exciting, right? The film will feature performances by Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn and Michael Caine and will feature a Hans Zimmer composed score. Just check out the trailer below, you’ll probably get more excited about seeing this film too.

It will be interesting to see what Christopher Nolan has in store for us with this film. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m expecting a plot twist or two and some amazing special effects.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians Of The Galaxy: This film (which is based on the Marvel Comic of the same name) is scheduled for release on the 1st of August 2014. The film will feature appearances by Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro and is the tenth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In the far reaches of space, an American pilot named Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself the object of a manhunt after stealing an orb coveted by the villainous Ronan. In order to evade Ronan, he is forced into an uneasy truce with a group of misfits including Gamora, Rocket, Drax the Destroyer and Groot. Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos and is forced to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand to save the universe. Now this could just be interesting if you ask me.

Check out the trailer below and find out why I’m excited to see this film later in 2014:

I’m thinking that we can braces ourselves for an action packed ride, right? I’m thinking that we can expect some witty humor coupled with some amazing visual effects in this film. Some critics aren’t too optimistic for this film, saying that it could be Marvel’s first failure, but I think they may be wrong in their assessment.

Sin City - A Dame to Kill For

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For: The long awaited sequel to 2005’s Sin City is almost upon us. Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is scheduled for release in the USA on the 22nd of August this year. The film re-unites much of the first film’s cast but will also feature performances by some top Hollywood actors. Jessica Alba, Powers Boothe, Josh Brolin, Rosario Dawson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Eva Green, Dennis Haysbert, Stacy Keach, Jaime King, Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven, Mickey Rourke and Bruce Willis will all be featuring in this film which is directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller.

The movie will see some of Sin City’s most hard-boiled citizens crossing paths with some more reviled inhabitants and is loose based on one of Frank Miller’s short stories. I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed the first film and therefor see no reason why I should give this film a skip.  My gut is telling me that the second installment in the Sin City franchise is going to blow audiences away with some amazing action sequences and brilliant cinematography. Just check out the trailer below and you’ll see what I mean:

See, I told you that this is going to be awesome. Pity that we’ll have to wait a little while longer before we can experience something that is going to blow us all away though.

Well, there you have it, 3 movies coming out later in 2014 that I don’t want to miss. Which one of these films are you most looking forward to? Leave a comment a comment and let me know.
