You know your human is excited when she runs into your homestead, jumping up and down like a Mexican jumping bean and just points to her phone. At first I thought she finally managed to get her hands on the new Fokofpolisiekar vinyls but then I saw why she was excited: 30 Seconds to Mars is touring SA in June next year. But the best of it all is the fact that the band will be playing on her birthday in Johannesburg.
In case you are Batman and you live in a very dark cave with just the rats listening to you: 30 Seconds to Mars are a 3 piece band consisting of brothers Jared and Shannon Leto and Tomo Milicevic. They have released 3 albums so far with ‘A Beautiful Lie’ (being one of the biggest so far with hits like “Bury Me” and “The Kill” – which set records all over the globe). With their 3rd album,“This Is War”, they set a Guinness World Record for the “longest concert tour by a rock band”. Their single, “Closer to the edge”, became the fastest selling rock single in the UK. If anyone saw them at Cokefest a few years ago, they will knows how crazy Jared gets on stage. This will be the band’s third tour in our country (something that rocks my cow socks off).
30 Seconds to Mars will play two shows: One on Friday the 13th of June 2014 at the Grand Arena at Grand West Casino in Cape Town and another on Monday the 16th of June 2014 at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg. Tickets are on sale right now via Computicket and let me tell you, if you are struggling with Christmas gift ideas, buy a fan a ticket. This show is very awesome and we need to wash out all the Nickelback that got left behind. If you are a 30 Seconds to Mars fan then this is really music to your ears, if not well get lost.
I’m already hard at practice singing 30 Seconds to Mars songs, since my human has played it all weekend long. My letter to Santa already got longer, tickets to the Jozi show along with plane tickets to Up The Creek.
