2017 has been a pretty interesting year for rock music and contrary to popular belief there have been quite a few rock & metals albums that have been released this year…
2017 has seen releases from Halestorm, Dropkick Murphys, The Flaming Lips, Sepultura, The xx, Steel Panther, Obituary, Phish, Incubus, Maximo Park, Sheryl Crow, While She Sleeps, New Found Glory, Kasabian, Seether, The Kooks, Linkin Park, Danzig, Rancid, Rise Against, Nickelback, Portugal. Fact is, it’s almost impossible to keep up with all the new music that gets released all the time and it’s understandable if you miss some cool music videos that pop up on websites like YouTube. Today I’m featuring 4 Rock Music Video releases you may have missed in 2017
Seether – “Betray and Degrade”: This song was the second single off Seether‘s latest album (“Poison The Parish”). I’ve listened to the album and I have to admit that it’s a pretty damn good hard rock album. The music video was released on the 10th of August 2017. The song was self-produced by Shaun Morgan. Let’s hope that this band (which has its roots in our country) decide to swing by for a multi-show tour in South Africa in 2018, it’s been a while since they’ve performed here.
Royal Blood – “How Did We Get So Dark?”: This song is the title track off the second Royal Blood album (which was released in June 2017. It’s a kick-ass tune and the music video must be one of the coolest videos that have been released this year. The video features a villain, a car chase scene and a lot of fluffy bunnies. Let’s hope that someone brings Royal Blood to South Africa next year because there are a lot of hungry rock fans down here who want to see them live.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – “Little Thing Gone Wild”: This song is off the upcoming Black Rebel Motorcycle Club album entitled “Wrong Creatures”. The album is scheduled to be released in January 2018. The band were supposed to tour SA again in March 2016, but sadly that RAMFest got cancelled. Let’s hope we see them in SA in 2018 because that would be really grand. I’m very bummed that I missed them at Synergy Live in 2011.
Green Day – “Back In The USA”: This song was released on 2017 Green Day Greatest Hits album (“God’s Favorite Band”). The music video pays homage to the classic John Carpenter movie They Live and conjures up memories of Pleasantville. In my opinion this is probably one of the coolest music videos that has been released this year.
