Star Trek has always been one of my favorite franchises in Science Fiction. I can’t remember the exact year that I watched my first episode on South African television, but it had to be sometime in the 1980’s – we still had a black & white TV set. To honor my love for the franchise, I’m featuring some Star Trek Memes today.

I watched Star Trek: Into Darkness in 3D on the big screen earlier this year and I must say that the franchise certainly has come a long way since it first aired way back in 1966. Hardcore Trekkies would probably kick my ass for this, but I’m really glad that Star Trek had a reboot in 2009.

J.J. Abrams may have messed with the timeline, but it’s definitely not boring and it’s attracting a lot of new fans to the Science Fiction genre. In an age where shows like Jersey Shore get renewed for 6 seasons and shows like Stargate Universe get cancelled after only 2, this is actually a good thing. Science Fiction encourages people to broaden their minds, much better than Reality TV (which is retarded and designed to dumb down the population).
