Stone Jets will be jamming at Oppikoppi Nomakanjani this coming weekend. They recently released a brand new EP / album and it’s a goodie. If you don’t believe me, make sure that you stream it on Spotify.
I recently had a chat to the band about Oppikoppi and a few other things. This is what they had to say:
When you think of Oppikoppi festival, what comes to mind?
Yoh, Oppi: Dust, Vibes and a lot of music
What have you guys been up to lately?
We’ve been very busy touring Durban and Gauteng to promote our latest EP “Memory”. Oppi will be the culmination of a 20 show tour.
What is the funniest thing that you’ve ever seen at a music festival?
The wasted people who wake up with you in a tent.
Where does the name “Stone Jets” come from?
The name comes from two guys who love music and South Africa so much that they wanted every time their music or name is shared to be a reminder of what they intend to do. Winning at life while embodying the spirit of ubuntu.
If someone asks you to describe your latest EP to them, what would you say?
Memory, our latest EP, is a collection of honest and passionate songs that build on what our previous EP, What I Say set out to do.
What can we expect from your set at Oppikoppi festival this year?
This year will be our second time at Oppi since 2016. Like any sophomore, we are ready to get going and bring the heat or rather, dust! Expect a vibe.
I’d like to thank Stone Jets for this interview and I wish them all of the best with their set at Oppikoppi this coming weekend.
