For Those Of You Who Did Not Know, Billy Joe Armstrong is the lead vocalist of the rock band Green Day (which was formed in the late 1980s in California). I’ve been a fan of Green Day since high school and they’re definitely on my list of bands that I want to see before I die.
Over the weekend Billy Joe Armstrong lost it on stage at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada in the USA. The organizers cut down Green Day’s set from 45 minutes to 25 minutes in order to allow Usher longer time on stage, so I understand his anger.
He may have over-reacted a little bit and some folks are blaming it on substance abuse. Rumor has it that he was completely sober for a year before their show this past Saturday.
Check out the video of Billy Joe Armstrong losing it on stage below. Warning: It contains some explicit language. It’s already had 2.7 million views on YouTube:
If you ask me, this rant by Billy Joe Armstrong is on my top 10 list for the most Rock ‘n Roll things of 2012. The funny thing is, Justin Bieber didn’t even play at this festival. What do you think? Leave a comment on this post and let me know, I’d like to hear from you.
Green Day released the first of their three upcoming studio albums a day or so ago in the USA. The album is entitled “Uno”. The second and third albums will be titled “Dos” and “Tres”.
