Great news! Today RAMFest confirmed Black Rebel Motorcycle Club as an International Headliner for Stellenbosch & Johannesburg in 2016.
In case you did not know, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (or BRMC) is a three piece rock band from San Francisco, California (in the USA). The group currently consists of Peter Hayes (on vocals and guitar), Robert Levon Been (on bass and vocals) and Leah Shapiro (on drums). They have been around since 1998 and to date they have released no less than seven studio albums.
It’s the second time that Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will be making their way to South Africa. The last time they were here was in 2011 (when they played Synergy Live in the Western Cape). Sadly I missed them that time (because they did play a show in Gauteng), so I’m really looking forward to FINALLY seeing them live at RAMFest 2016.
If you’re not familiar with this amazing rock band, have a listen to “Beat the Devils Tattoo” (the title track of their sixth studio album which was released in 2010). If you watch a lot of movies you’ve probably heard this track before. It has been featured on no less than three movie soundtracks since it was released.
Pretty amazing right? If you’re one of these “I don’t who BRMC is” peeps, you might be a little more familiar with them. Make sure that you get yourself acquainted with their music, because mark my words it’s going to be a blast. I’ve only seen and heard good things about their live shows.
The 10th edition of RAMFest aka #10YearsOfRAM will have two legs:
The Johannesburg / North edition will be held at Carousel Casino and Entertainment World on the 5th of March 2016. The Western Cape / South edition will be held at Coetzenburg stadium on the 12th of March 2016. Phase 1 General Admission Tickets go on sale on the 25th of November 2015 for both these festivals at Computicket, Shoprite, Checkers and Checkers Hyper. Tickets cost R450.
More acts will be announced for RAMFest 2016 in the near future, so make sure that you LIKE the RAMFest Facebook Page or that you’re following @RAMFest on Twitter.
