Brace yourselves for Mieliepop 2017

Mieliepop has always been one of my favorite festivals and I have a feeling that this year’s edition is going to be a lot of fun. Last year’s edition kicked ass and judging by the line-up so far, this year’s edition going to be amazing.

When Kernel Mieliepop has this to say about this year’s festival, you know it’s going to be a good weekend: “We observe today not a victory of a party, but a celebration of freedom, creativity and individuality – symbolizing an end, as well as a beginning – signifying renewal, as well as change. For we have sworn before you and almighty God of Great Music an oath to present the best artists a country has to offer across all genre’s over one weekend.”

Mieliepop 2017 (The Republic of Mieliepop) is going to take place from the 17th to the 20th of March at Tolderia Resort (about 50 km from Ermelo) in Mpumalanga province. The following artists have been announced so far:

This line-up reads like a massive encyclopedia of the who’s who in SA Music in 2017. There’s so many good names on this list, it’s almost impossible to decide who I don’t want to watch perform at the festival. I’m thinking that I should start flexing my festival feet and give my liver special pep talks daily to prepare myself for Mieliepop 2017.
