Great news! Legendary South African musician, Piet Botha will be celebrating his 60th birthday in July and he’s going to do it in style. This will not just be a birthday party, he will also be celebrating 40 years in the SA Music industry.
Piet Botha has cemented himself in the hearts and minds of music lovers of all shapes, sizes and ages over the last four decades and what better way to celebrate it with a show at the Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria? The Piet Botha: Big 60 Spectacular will take place on the 20th of July and tickets are already available at Computicket.
To celebrate this momentous occasion Botha will be joining forces with close friends and musicians from across the board. The Jack Hammer Band , The Dennis Brothers and Akkedis Band, Boet Faber, Leon van Zweel (on the saxophone), Gerry Robinson, Mel Botes, Jacob Wulana and many others are among the selected few that will share the stage on this night of rock ‘n roll in the Capital City.
The show will highlight some of the best and enduring songs from a musical journey of 40 years, including Afrikaans and English material from the early years until the present as well as some brand new material.
I’m really looking forward to checking out this amazing show. It’s going to be awesome to see a living legend on stage doing what he loves most. There’s no doubt in my mind about that. For more info, check out the event on Facebook.
