Cape Town City Hall

Cape Town City hall was built in 1905. It is located on the Grand Parade to the West of the Castle (the oldest structure in South Africa) in Cape Town and is built from honey-coloured oolitic limestone imported from Bath (in the United Kingdom). The tower of the City Hall has a Turret Clock which strikes the hours and chimes the Westminster quarters. I spent 7 days in December in Cape Town in 2009. During this period my dad, my brother and I took a bus tour around the city. I snapped this photo of the Cape Town City Hall while we were on the tour. This photo has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo on Running Wolf’s Rant for the 11th of April 2011.
