Castle Lager is one of the best selling beers in South Africa. Castle Lager has been brewed since 1895. The beer was originally a product of SAB Miller (a company that was acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev in 2016).
Anheuser-Busch InBev currently has approximately 500 beer brands in over 100 countries. This company also brews Budweiser, Corona and Stella Artois.
When the avert was released, Castle Lager was one of the sponsors for Test Cricket in South Africa
The song Africa by Toto is used as theme song in this advert. It’s still one of my favorite adverts of all time. I must admit that this is not my favorite beer. I’m a much bigger fan of Windhoek Lager, but I do like the this top-selling brand’s adverts.
The advert features a South African living in New York City, pushing a cart. This is a truly classic South African advert.
