Recently the British Television TV station Channel 4 showcased the 20 best adverts for 2011. 8,000 Channel 4 viewers were asked to vote for their favorite commercials. There were lots of interesting adverts featured on the show, including adverts from Heineken, Volkswagen, Weetabix, The Yellow Pages, Dior and a few other well-known brands in the UK.
The advert that viewers voted as their favorite stood out above them all though. The advert was for Cravendale Milk and was released in February of 2011. Cravendale is a brand of milk produced by Arla Foods (a company based in Leeds) in the United Kingdom. The advert features Bertram Thumbcat as its main protagonist and British actor Tim Curry as the narrator. The advert was also voted as the number 1 funniest commercial on the TV countdown special TBS’s Funniest Commercials of the Year 2011 in the United States.
I must admit that this is probably one of the cleverest and funniest TV adverts I’ve ever seen. This advert (which is entitled “Cats With Thumbs”) has had almost 5 million views on YouTube.
