At the end of September this year I made my way to the Voortrekker Monument to catch another edition of Park Acoustics (an event on the Pretoria social calendar which has become extremely popular over the last few years). More than 4,000 people made their way to the venue on the day to enjoy music and comedy on three different stages. The headlining act for the day was Last Dinosaurs (from Australia).
Before the Aussies made their way onto the main stage, the crowd were entertained by awesome local acts like Desmond and the Tutu’s, Jeremy Loops, La Voyage, Holiday Murray and various others. I must say that this day was one of the most memorable ones of 2013 and hope the next edition (which is held on the 24th of November and which will feature Mango Groove as the headlining act) will be one as well.
I snapped this photo of the crowd in front of the stage during the Jeremy Loops performance and it has been selected as the Daily Cool Photo for the 12th of November 2013 on Running Wolf’s Rant. Who says that Pretoria is a boring place on Sundays?
I’m pretty sure that I’ll see many of you at the next edition of Park Acoustics (in just over a week’s time). Make sure that you pack in some sunscreen because it’s going to be a scorcher. Tickets are selling fast, so make sure that you get yours before you can say “Sunscreen”.
