I recently had a chat to Craig Durrant (the drummer of Desmond and the Tutus) about Park Acoustics and a few other things. This is what he had to say:
It’s been a hectic year, but there is no better way than to (almost) end it with you guys performing at the last Park Acoustics of 2018. How do you guys keep up such high energy to always deliver such kick-ass sets?
Well, we definitely don’t do drugs if that’s what you’re getting at. I think we’re just really happy to get out of the house.
You guys have played more Park Acoustics shows than I can remember. What has been your favourite memory at Park Acoustics to date?
My parents came to a show of ours at Park Acoustics a few years ago. I wonder if they were impressed?
Any surprises in store for your Park Acoustics set? (Please say you’ll do the ‘Hotline Bling’ version of Pretoria Girls, that shhhizzz is my jam).
We’ll be playing 2 of our new songs! That cover will probably make an appearance too.
A few of my friends are struggling to get your 012 TCG card. Did any of you stock up on those or are you keeping them for some kind of ransom? If so, what do you want for them?
Actually we haven’t got our cards yet so there are definitely a few out there. But they’re all ours!
Any epic plans in store for you guys for 2019? New music perhaps?
We dropped a new single on Friday 23 November, and next year we’re releasing a whole load of new music so yes some good stuff coming up!
I’d like to thank Craig and Desmond and the Tutus for this interview and I wish them all of the best with their future musical endeavors.
