Disney is also creating a number of original shows for the service. The includes a bunch of Marvel shows and two Star Wars shows: The Mandalorian and a show about the Rogue One characters Cassian Andor and K-2SO. Disney+ will also be the exclusive streaming home of The Simpsons. All 30 seasons of the series will be available at launch.

How much is the subscription fee for it?

According to executives, Disney+ will be completely advert free and will be making money off subscriptions only. The subscription fee will be $6.99 a month.

Disney is “likely” to offer a bundle of Hulu, ESPN+ and Disney+ at a discounted price. The company has recently obtained the controlling stake in Hulu (thanks to their recently finalized acquisition of Fox).

Will Disney+ be available in South Africa?

The answer to that question is “No”. Disney plans to roll out Disney+ across North America, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region and Latin America throughout 2021. No plans for a roll-out in Africa yet.

It’s sad that Disney is not planning to roll it out this service in Africa any time soon. Let’s hope that those content distribution deals they signed doesn’t get disolved soon. If they do we could be seeing a lot less Disney content on streaming services like Netflix in the near future.
