Evolution in Movies

I was browsing The Meta Picture this morning and I found something pretty awesome, a photo depicting evolution in movies. It’s not something that you find every day, so I thought I’d feature it on the blog today.

The very well drawn photo below depicts the evolution of Batman (who has entertained movie audiences since 1943), Biff Tannen (the bully in the Back to the Future movies), Bill Murray (one of my favorite actors who has entertained me in films like Caddyshack, the two Ghostbusters movies, Scooged, What About Bob?, Zombieland, Stripes and other films), Jack Nicholson (another person on my favorite actors list who has impressed me with awesome acting skills in films like Chinatown, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, The Shining, the first Batman movie, A Few Good Men, As Good as It Gets, Anger Management and other films), Johnny Depp (who made his acting debut in the first Nightmare on Elm Street movie and has been amazing movie audiences with her versatility in films like Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorhands, the Pirates of the Caribbean films and others ever since),  Kurt Russell (who is known for his portrayal of Snake Bliskin in Escape from New York and Escape from LA and other legendary characters), Natalie Portman (who has impressed audiences with awesome roles in films like V for Vendetta, the Star Wars prequels and Thor), Rick Moranis (the guy from Honey I Shrunk the Kids and the Ghost Busters films), Sigourney Weaver (Ripley from the Alien films and Grace from Avatar), Tom Hanks (who has also proved his versatility in films like Splash, Saving Private Ryan, Apollo 13 and The Da Vinci Code) and Uma Thurman (one of my favorite actresses who reminded me not to mess with her in films like Kill Bill Volume One and Two).

This photo is an awesome example of Evolution in Movies. I’m pretty sure that you could find some more actors that you could include in this list. Anthony Hopkins, Clint Eastwood, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro are four names that I can think of right away. These blokes have been around almost forever. Kudos to the person (or persons) who created this image. I am guessing it’s the folks at Geek Tyrant who are responsible for the original images.
