It’s a fact that 2017’s movies are going to be great! Not only will this year bring us the Lego Movie, Underworld, Trainspotting, Resident Evil, Sherlock, John Wick, Sherlock sequels (just to name a few of them), but 2017 will also bring us some exciting films in the Marvel and DC universes, the live-action versions of Beauty and The Beast and Ghost In The Shell, a King Arthur movie (directed by Guy Ritchie), a remake of IT and much much more.
Today I’m featuring three 2017 Movies that I’m looking forward to. I have to be honest that it was tough choosing these 4 films, but it’s the ones I definitely DON’T want to miss.
Star Wars Episode VIII: There’s no doubt in my mind that this will probably be the biggest film of 2017. Rey is expected to continue her epic journey with Finn, Poe and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the saga. The film’s official title has not be released yet, but rumor has it that it might be “Forces of Destiny”.
If this is true it ties in pretty nicely with the previous film’s title (“The Force Awakens”) or if it’s false, then it might just be Lucasfilm trademarking titles left right and center (because they don’t know what to call it yet). Sadly no trailer has been released for this film yet.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, the story continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper will be reprising their roles from 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy and you can also expect performances by Kurt Russell and Glenn Close.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first film and it looks like that this is going to be one hell of a ride. I’m curious to find out which songs will be included in the soundtrack and I’m hoping that I won’t be disappointed by this. Thankfully Guardians of Galaxy Vol. 2 is written and directed by James Gunn (the same guy that wrote and directed the first film). Check out the latest trailer below:
The Mummy: In this film, an ancient princess is awakened from her crypt beneath the desert, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia, and terrors that defy human comprehension. It is a reboot of The Mummy franchise and the first installment in the Universal Monsters shared universe.
The 2017 version of The Mummy will feature performances by Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutela, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance and Russell Crowe. The screenplay was written by Jon Spaihts & Christopher McQuarrie and the film is directed by Alex Kurtzman (who is also directing the upcoming Venom movie). Judging by the trailer below, this is going to be an action-packed adventure-filled ride:
Spider-Man: Homecoming: In this film, a young Peter Parker / Spider-Man begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero. This is NOT a sequel, but a reboot (which was inevitable after the ridiculous second The Amazing Spider-Man film). I’ve always been a fan of Spider-Man, so I’m really looking forward to this.
The film is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will feature performances by Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr.. The film is directed by Jon Watts (who is directed his third feature film). The trailer was released a few days, check it out below:
Well, there you have it, Four 2017 Movies I’m looking forward to. Are you looking forward to these too or do you have other on your list? Leave a comment and let me know. Feedback is appreciated and welcome.
