Earlier today the organizers of Freedom Festival released this statement about the events that were scheduled in Pretoria and Cape Town for next weekend:
Freedom Festival SA regrets to announce the postponement of the festival. Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the festival’s control which can not be resolved before the dates of the festival, the festival has been postponed. New dates for the festival will be advised in due course.
TICKETS: Tickets already bought for the festival, will be valid for use on the new dates of the festival. Ticket-buyers who would like a refund on their tickets, can email Ticibox at firstname.lastname@example.org for a refund. All requests will be dealt with and refunded by 18 May 2015.
Due to the change in dates the line-up may vary. Freedom Festival SA apologises for any inconvenience caused. We would like to thank you for your continued support of the festival and looks forward to announcing the new dates.
This is sad news, but at least it’s not cancelled, only postponed. Think about it this way: At least you’ll have one weekend in April that you don’t have spend at gigs. If you go to a lot of gigs, this is actually a blessing in disguise, so savour it. Drink a ton of beer at home and catch up on series instead.
